Mäki-Matti Family Park

Mäki-Matti Family Park is Finland's oldest family park, established in 1979. The park features a large playground and two houses with playrooms, a kitchen, and restrooms. Check the opening hours of the houses here. In the summer, the park also has the Old Good Café, run by students, where you can buy delicious cinnamon buns. The café is open daily in June from 10 am to 4 pm, and in July from 10 am to 6 pm.

Rantaraitti Trail and Lutakko Harbor

The famous Rantaraitti Trail, known as Finland's largest outdoor gym, is easily accessible from the hotel's main entrance. The entire trail is approximately 13 kilometers long, but shorter routes from 6 to 8 kilometers are also available. The trail encircles Lake Jyväsjärvi, guaranteeing stunning lake views! The trail conveniently passes through Lutakko Harbor, where you'll find restaurant ships and the cozy Sataman Viilu terrace. After the walk, it's great to stop for refreshments on the terrace or take a rejuvenating sauna session. Book your sauna at Viilu here.

Lutakko Beach and Park

Just a stone's throw away from the hotel is Lutakko Beach and the green park, also known as Lutakko Dunes, which is ideal for picnics or games like mölkky. The beach has a sandy bottom, and dressing rooms are easily accessible.

Päijänne Cruises

Various cruises and sauna rafts depart from Lutakko Harbor. Book a local water cruise with Päijänne Cruises Hilden Oy here and view the city from the water!

Water Activities at Lake Jyväsjärvi

Toivola Old Courtyard

The charming Toivola Old Courtyard here overflows with summer atmosphere and radiates the 19th century with its lovely handicraft shops and cafés. Strolling around the old wooden houses is delightful in any weather! Summer events and markets are also hosted here.

Alvar Aalto Architecture

Finland's most famous architect, Alvar Aalto, began his successful career in Jyväskylä, and dozens of his works can be found here. Learn more about Aalto’s legacy at the Alvar Aalto Museum here, located a short walk from our hotel.

Cycling Week

What could be better than hopping on a bike and exploring the city? Official Cycling Week is celebrated from May 5th to May 11th. P.S. Our reception also offers loaner bikes for staying guests!

Upper Town Night

A free festival in the city center from May 15th to May 19th! Various events ranging from sports to poetry take place in Upper Town, as the name suggests. This festival has been organized since 1992. Check out the event in advance here.

Jyväskylä Summer - Park Celebrations

This two-day park celebration brings top artists and various restaurants to the atmospheric Lounaispuisto Park. The park celebration is part of the Jyväskylä Summer event, which runs from July 2nd to July 8th here.

Suomipop Festival

Festival vibes and crowds return to Lutakonaukio from July 9th to July 11th! The festival area conveniently starts right outside the hotel's entrance, so grab your festival tickets here and book your stay at our hotel.

Secto Rally Finland

The roar of engines fills Lutakonaukio when the World Rally Championships return, and the area is packed with rally cars and service parks. Kalle Rovanperä's home rally takes place this year from July 31st to August 3rd.

Harju Evening Play

Every summer evening at 8 pm, the trumpet sounds from Harju, playing 'Song for My Homeland,' composed by Aulis Raitala and written by Martti Korpilahti. This tradition, ongoing since 1976, creates a magical atmosphere. For many, summer starts with the first evening play and ends when autumn evenings grow darker and the last play echoes. Don't miss it!
