The renovation of the restaurant and sauna facilities at Break Sokos Hotel Levi in summer 2023 – Grill it! opened in Levi

Break Sokos Hotel Levi, located in the alpine village of Levi, has undergone its first major renovation since its opening in 2008. Restaurant Kiisa and Coffee House opened their doors in June, and the grand opening of the new Grill it! restaurant was celebrated in August.

From harmonious color schemes to refreshing hues and greenery

Break Sokos Hotel Levi is the northernmost hotel in the Sokos Hotels chain and is located right in the heart of Levi's village. The renovations primarily focus was on the hotel's restaurants and sauna facilities. The reception area and lobby have also been given a new look, and necessary refurbishments have been made to the hotel rooms.

"In Kiisa's interior design, Finnish elements such as light wood, harmonious color schemes, and modern Lappish ornaments are emphasized. The Coffee House, popular among travelers and locals alike, can be described as a relaxed oasis, combining fresh colors, abundant greenery, and quality coffee products," says Ulla Peltoniemi, Business Director of Cooperative Arina.

"As a completely new restaurant in Levi, Grill it! offers delicious à la carte dishes prepared on a wood-fired grill, catering to steak, fish, chicken, and vegetarian lovers alike. True to its name, the interior of Grill it! reflects the tones and materials of the charcoal grill. The fireplace and oil lamps create a delightful atmosphere in the restaurant," says Annika Moisio, Restaurant Manager.

"With the new restaurant, we have also gained a large and beautiful terrace, situated in a sunny location where guests can enjoy good food and watch life in the heart of Levi. In total, Grill it! has seating for 120 guests," says Hilkka Lehtinen, Hotel Manager of Break Sokos Hotel Levi.

Luxury in sauna facilities

The sauna facilities at Break Sokos Hotel Levi have also been completely renovated. The sauna areas feature a dark and sophisticated interior design, showcasing Lapland's stone and golden hues, creating a luxurious spa atmosphere.

"The sauna facilities provide our guests with a special space to easily relax and unwind completely. Every detail has been carefully considered. The saunas feature, cold water showers, allow our guests to enjoy the benefits of cold therapy comfortably and easily," says Lehtinen.

The planning of the restaurants, hotel reception, and sauna facilities was led by Yo Zen Architects Kate Salminen and Paula Kouri. Coffee House's design was handled by Visionary Design Partners' Jaana Ekman.

"It's great to be able to offer our guests experiences in our beautifully renovated spaces," Lehtinen concludes.
