Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association

The Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association (Pidä Saaristo Siistinä ry) is a Finnish environmental organisation for boaters and all those travelling in and around Finnish waterways. The association has been working to keep the nature of Finnish archipelagos and lakes clean since 1969.

Working hard to protect the environment

The Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association's work to protect Finnish waters is divided into three areas of activity: environmental management, environmental communication and project work.

All the association's actions aim at keeping Finnish sea areas and inland waters, coastlines and the archipelago clean. The association promotes and finds solutions for sustainable recreational boating, use of Finnish waterways and marina operations.

Waste management, toilets and floating sewage pump-out stations

The association's actions are concrete, and it provides services that help protect the archipelago, coastlines and lakes. The association constructs and maintains waste recycling and disposal stations, dry toilets and floating sewage pump-out stations, as well as organising separate collection campaigns for hazardous waste and rubbish. The association has around 200 Roope service points around Finland.

Members are the cornerstone and foundation of the association's operations. They enable the association to carry out its comprehensive work to keep the marine and lake environs clean. All boaters, paddlers, archipelago residents, holiday residents, hikers and those who wish to support the association's operations are welcome to join the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association.

The association's members appreciate clean waterways and natural surroundings, and they indicate this by attaching the Seal sticker to their boats, canoes and even their laptops.
