Museums in Lahti
Visit Lahti’s museums
Lahti’s museums create experiences and ensure that Lahti’s cultural heritage is passed on to the next generations.
Radio and TV Museum Mastola
About a 1 km walk from the hotel.
Walk through Finland’s television history and discover the what was then the world’s most powerful transmission equipment at the iconic radio masts. Come to the museum’s green screen studio, where you too can get to try the take-off table of Lahti’s ski jumping hill. Are you brave enough? An anchor person’s job in front of the camera isn’t easy – or is it? Come and try for yourself! But before marching in front of a television camera, it’s important to get your makeup and wardrobe.
For a staying guest, tickets to the Ski Museum and the Radio and TV Museum Mastola for a total price of €13 per ticket are available directly from reception.
Lahti Ski Museum
About a 1.5 km walk from the hotel.
The gesture-based ski jumping simulator offers a unique opportunity to strive for fame on Lahti’s large hill. In the ski jumping simulator, you’ll get to test your skills as a ski jumping eagle. The ski jumping simulator takes you up the tower and brings you down along the inrun track. In the 3D game, you get to immerse yourself in the fierce atmosphere of ski jumping. The top-ten list of the day is constantly updated, and the ski jumping champion changes from hour to hour. With your team, you can compete for the supremacy of Salpausselkä during the test and competition rounds. The jumping experience is almost authentic – only the life-threatening part is missing!
There is also a laser shooting station for biathlon, where you can challenge your friend at pistol and rifle shooting. Biathlon is a demanding sport because of its versatility. When you have first tested your muscular strength on the ski track, aiming to shoot precisely can be difficult. The infrared EKO AIMS weapon provides the opportunity for target training. You get a green light from a hit and a red one from a miss. How many penalty loops do you have to ski around?
For a staying guest, tickets to the Ski Museum and the Radio and TV Museum Mastola for a total price of €13 per ticket are available directly from reception.
