Things to do

Sights and things to do in summertime Lahti

Lahti and the Päijät-Häme region offer children of different ages – and adults too – a lot to do!

In the summer, you can enjoy beautiful nature in the rugged Salpausselkä landscape by riding a fatbike or hiking from one lean-to to another, for example. Enjoy the summer and the beauty of Finnish nature by cruising on the waves of Lake Vesijärvi. Take a cruise from Lahti’s passenger harbour. The activities, delicious food, and experiential concerts and gigs at the passenger harbour showcase the best of Lahti. Come and experience what Lahti has to offer!

Lahti Ski Jump Tower, the outdoor swimming pool and the Ski Museum offer a trip to the heart of the Lahti sports culture.

Popular fatbike tours are organised by Kitetirri, where you can also rent bikes for your own use to explore the enchanting and calming nature of Salpausselkä. Our forests have several lean-to and campfire sites for day trip destinations, a more than two-billion-year-old Pirunpesä (literally “Devil’s Nest”) and many other breath-taking destinations.

Laune Family Park offers a wide range of things to do, including a traffic park, climbing frames, tracks to practise motor coordination, and problem-solving games. There is also a skateboarding area, a frisbee golf course and a minigolf centre next to the park. Yli-Marola’s 4H petting zoo is about a kilometre’s walk from the family park. The Puksu city train runs around Lahti in the summer.

If you are more interested in indoor activities, Trampolin Park and the indoor playground Leo’s Leikkimaa are guaranteed to entertain you. The experiential Malva, a visual art museum opened in 2022, brings life and creativity to the days in the old Mallasjuoma environment with its changing and fixed exhibitions.

Lahti has many cosy beaches for swimming. For example, the Joutjärvi beach with its volleyball courts in Möysä, the Mytäjäinen beach 1.5 km from the hotel, the Mukkula beach in the beautiful manor park and the popular Merrasjärvi beach invite you to enjoy yourself and enjoy the summer day. And what better way to make a summer day than delicious ice cream from the ice cream boat Banana Split in Lahti harbour or from the ice cream kiosks in the marketplace near the hotel?
