Fun with kids in Oulu
An amazing and spacious children’s playroom is waiting. All small guests are welcome!
Here you can roam around, use the slide and look for places to hide. The playroom has probably the longest toy car track in Finland. Come and enjoy the best games of your holiday! The playroom is accessed from the hotel’s 2nd floor and includes activities for children from toddlers to school kids. Older children can use the reading corner and a fun football game.
Remember to ask about rooms with a bath. Microwaves in the lobbies on the 2nd and 6th floors can be used to heat up children’s food. You can buy small evening snacks and refreshments around the clock from the SHOP at reception. The selection includes rolls, smoothies, fruit, quick oatmeal and freshly squeezed juice. The Amarillo and Frans & Camille restaurants in the hotel also have separate menus for children.
You can also borrow children’s books and boardgames from the playroom for your room. The hotel has outdoor play equipment that can be borrowed in the summer time, as well as sledges and snow gliders in the winter. For biking trips, the hotel lends Jopo bikes, and there are also suitable models for children. Did you know that the Valkea Shopping Centre right next to the hotel also has a nice play area for children, a toy shop, and a lovely and spacious family room for changing nappies, feeding or breastfeeding in-between shopping.

Playgrounds
Hupisaaret islands and Ainola park
Right next to our hotel are the beautiful and lush Hupisaaret islands and the Ainola park. Just like Central Park in New York, this is a lovely place for residents and visitors to spend time by the river and be close to nature. The Hupisaaret islands contain dozens of small islands and parks in the Oulujoki river delta. There are beautiful white wooden bridges over streams and romantic paths surrounded by tree foliage. The Hupisaaret islands have enough space for a picnic, a large and impressive playground for children, and an atmospheric café surrounded by a garden. The area also features Finland’s longest fishway, where you can watch how salmon make their way upstream to the Oulujoki river through an underwater window. Next to the Ainola park, there is the Northern Ostrobothnia Museum, offering interesting temporary exhibitions on the area’s history.
