Grand Christmas Opening

The traditional Grand Christmas Opening Day is celebrated in Turku on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

The program includes a grand Christmas parade, the lighting of the national Christmas tree, and the sparkling Christmas lights in the city center. Come and join in the Christmas spirit!

Old Great Square Christmas

The Old Great Square Christmas brings festive scents and atmosphere to the Old Great Square over four weekends leading up to Christmas: November 23-24, November 30-December 1, December 7-8, and December 14-15, 2024. The event runs every day from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This traditional Christmas event has plenty to see and experience for the whole family. At the market, beautiful handicrafts and traditional Christmas treats will be sold, and there will also be music, theater, and circus performances.

Path of Light

The Path of Light is a large light art installation implemented by the City of Turku, consisting of a major light event and seasonal lighting displays throughout the darkest winter period. The 2024 Path of Light will take place from December 5-8 in the Old Town area and around the Aura River.

Katri Helena - Christmas Land

Katri Helena’s only Christmas concert of the year and the last of her career will take place at the Gatorade Center on December 8th. Proclamation of Christmas Peace

The Proclamation of Christmas Peace is a tradition that ushers in the Christmas celebration and announces the beginning of Christmas. The Christmas Peace is proclaimed on Christmas Eve at 12 PM at the Old Great Square in Finnish and Swedish.
