Sustainable visit
Tips for a sustainable visit
Sustainable action is at the heart of Original Sokos Hotel Kupittaa's operations. We have compiled tips for you on how to make your visit more responsible.
As our guest, you can help us operate sustainably through your actions in the following ways:
- You can decide on the cleaning rhythm for your room. We clean the rooms of our guests staying for a longer period every third night unless otherwise agreed. Naturally, if you prefer, you can have your room cleaned more often.
- Drink clean tap water. In your room, you’ll find drinking glasses; in the restaurant, water is served in pitchers, and in the deli and sauna, water is available in a glass jug. Filtered and sparkling tap water is also available at breakfast.
- Choose local, organic, and vegetarian options available at breakfast and in our restaurant. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about them!
- When dining from the buffet, only take as much food as you can eat. You can always come back for more!
- Instead of gifts and purchases, prefer experiences, such as restaurant gift cards.
- Explore the city by bike or use public transport. Our hotel is conveniently located near the train line and has excellent local bus connections.
- Go on an outing to nearby attractions – have a picnic in Kupittaa Park, visit the lovely Ruissalo, or enjoy the Halistenkoski hiking trail. Our reception is happy to answer questions and provide tips on nearby attractions.
- Leave your towel on the rack and use it again.
- Turn off the shower while applying shampoo or soap.
- Use a cup for brushing your teeth.
- Sort your trash. There are two sorting bins in your room, one for different types of waste. You can leave non-recyclable items, like empty bottles, on the table, and we will recycle them for you! More information can be found on the room television info channel.
- Turn off unnecessary lights. By taking your key card with you or lifting it up, you can turn off all the lights in your room.
- Prefer stairs over elevators.
- Avoid using disposable and individually packaged products.
- Take advantage of ResQ Club’s surplus products.
- Use local services such as restaurants, theaters, bowling alleys, or equipment rentals.
