Congratulations, Break Sokos Hotel Bomba!

Break Sokos Hotel Bomba is the Accommodation of the Year

The evening of the Finnish Travel Gala culminated in the announcement of the winners in twelve award categories - and Break Sokos Hotel Bomba was crowned the Accommodation of the Year!

Break Sokos Hotel Bomba has been chosen as the Accommodation of the Year at the Finnish Travel Gala. The Finnish travel industry, along with international guests, gathered on Friday, November 1st, to reward travel companies, operators, and destinations selected by the general public and travel professionals. The sixth Finnish Travel Gala brought together a record 440 travel industry professionals, their partners, and other stakeholders.

“This award and the choice of voters mean a lot to us,” says hotel manager Sanna Tenhunen, who was present to receive the award.

The gala evening culminated in the announcement of the winners in twelve different award categories. The winners of the award categories were determined based on the Net Promoter Score (NPS), which is based on responses from the general public and travel professionals to the question, ‘How likely are you to recommend the candidate to a friend or colleague?’. The winner in each category was the candidate with the highest score. Three of the award categories were exclusively for travel professionals, those responsible for travel management in companies, and those working with travel companies in their jobs. Over 13,400 people participated in the survey conducted in July-August. The Finnish Travel Gala, held at the Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport in Vantaa, was organized by Smalser Oy, a service company of the Finnish Travel Industry Association (SMAL).

The Finnish Travel Gala celebrates the resilient Finnish travel industry, which is one of Finland’s most significant – yet also most undervalued – sectors. Having overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, but still vulnerable to global political turmoil, the industry keeps Finland’s economic wheels turning and connects our country to international development. The travel industry in Finland still has great growth potential, but already has significant multiplier effects on other sectors. The total value of travel demand in Finland in 2023 was 15.3 billion euros. The industry employs an estimated 150,000 people across Finland.
